the human psyche & the simple act of
gardening can change lives & individuals.
All will enjoy the stories as they
set out to create a public place
where people come to sit, relax &
experience the peace & joy found
in nature.

Cate Garvey will lead you
on an informative tour of Vermont's
finest English Gardens featuring over
100 different perennials with
spectacular landscapes inspired by
founder Bea Baraw.

nursery, will look at different kinds of
compost & mulching materials &

Lodge-
Join Karen Bates, watershed
coordinator for the Agency of Natural
Resources, in constructing a Rain
Garden; a shallow depression that
collects & infiltrates rain & snowmelt
from a roof or driveway. It is a pleasing
feature which waters your landscape,
perennials, shrubs & trees.

Beautiful Gardens with
Minimal Intervention at
Evergreen Gardens-
Beth Urie,
of Mothergarden, will review primary
diseases & bug problems in our region
while suggesting which perennials,
annuals, shrubs & trees are least
susceptible to problems. Careful plant
selection for landscapes will minimize
the need for additive-interventions.
She ends with recommendations of
what to do to prevent problems & how
to address problems when they arise.

Where the Birds Are? at Trapp
Family Lodge
- Jan Axtell, of Fin
& Feather, will help you find out how
to attract birds & wildlife to your
property. Hear about plants & habitats
that will attract them year round. A
balanced ecosystem makes for a
